Event: Pictures with Santa - First Thursday Special Date: December 4th, 2008 As part of the First Thursday celebration join us for a Hot Dog or Hamburger, Fries and a 16 oz drink for only $5.00! On the Beanery Bistro side, Santa will be here from 5-7pm for pictures and holiday card making!!

Wear 'em if you got 'em! Enjoy a delicious selection in each of the four major tea food groups: tea (including decaf for the kids), tea sandwiches, scones, and desserts on Saturday, November 8th at 2:00 PM!
There's no dress code, but attendees are encouraged to wear pearls and/or lace to the Beanery Bistro's Pearls & Lace Tea party for fun!

Acclaimed author T.J. Banks book signing at the Beanery from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. T. J. Banks has written fiction, poetry, book reviews, and essays for numerous publications, including Poets & Writers, CAT FANCY, Just Cats, Writing For Our Lives, Woman & Earth, Our Mothers Our Selves: Writers and Poets Celebrate Motherhood (Bergin & Garvey), Cat's Meow! A contributing editor for laJoie and a former editorial associate with the Writer's Digest School, she has won awards for her work from the Cat Writers' Association, The Writing Self, and Burbage's, Ltd. In addition to her time-travel novel Souleiado (Five Star 2002),she has also written a novel for young adults, Houdini.
She lives with her daughter, Marissa, their cats, and two rabbits with Issues in Simsbury, CT.

January 11th, 18th, 25th, and the 1st of February 2007 Try something new with family and friends! Windsor resident, Rick Liegl, will be teaching a series of West African Drum Workshops for beginners.
The classes will be hands-on and will cover both the cultural/historical information of the drums and musicianship skills needed to play as an ensemble. Students will learn to play hand drums (Djembe) and stick drums (Kenkeni, Sangba, and Dundunba). Traditional drums handmade in Guinea, West Africa will be provided.
This music is very exciting and easy to play. And you'll be surprised to find that life lessons such as teamwork, perseverance and listening are very evident during the lessons.
Classes will be held January 11th, 18th, 25th, and the 1st of February 2007 from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Refreshments will be provided. The cost is $40.00 for 4 sessions or $12.00 per person for drop-ins. Discounts available to family groups. Please call the Beanery for more information 860-688-2224.
Saturday September 24, 2006 6:00 - 8:00 pm Pianist Nell Sweeney An evening of classical music inculding selections by Chopin, Bach's Goldberg Variations, Mozart's Turkish March and Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. This is a benefit concert in memory of Val's sister in law, Brandi Cope, whose battle with cancer came to an end. Donations will help Heifer International end world hunger and poverty.
